Highlights of this Cruise:
Benoa, Bali, Indonesia
The port of Benoa is located on the island of Bali, Indonesia. It provides easy access to nearby Kuta, the best known resort area of the island. Other nearby towns and villages include Seseh (6.4 nm), Denpasar (4.5 nm), Ujung (1.8 nm), Pesanggaran (2.0 nm), Kedonganan (2.9 nm) and Tuban (1.0 nm). Kuta is known internationally for its long sandy beach, varied accommodation, many restaurants and bars. Outside of Kuta visitors can visit nearby Seminyak, Sanur, Nusa Dua and further out, the quaint town of Ubud.
Surabaya, Indonesia
Surabaya is Indonesia's second-largest city and the capital of the province of East Java. It is located on the northern shore of eastern Java at the mouth of the Mas River and along the edge of the Madura Strait. It is a sprawling city which is modern in appearance, but also offers traces of its past. It is also a gateway for Mount Bromo and Bali. Attractions in Surabaya include the historical attractions in the ‘Old City’ aea. These include the Ampel Mosque and the Kong Co Kong Tik Cun Ong Temple. There are a number of good museums including the ‘House of Sampoerna’ which showcases the history of the famed ‘Kretek’ cigarettes. The Monumen Kapal Selam (Submarine Monument) is also an interesting attraction. Surabaya Zoo (Kebun Binatang) is a popular family attraction, as is the appealing stretch of sand better known to holidaymakers as Kenjeran Beach. The water slides at Ciputra Waterpark is fun for children and for adults, a stroll along the mouthwatering Food Street (G-Walk) is a must.
Celukan Bawang, Bali, Indonesia
In this important port, you may see numbers of the famous high-prowed Bugis schooners, the traditional trading vessels of the archipelago. They carry timber, cement and other goods from Sumatra and Kalimantan. From the port, it’s possible to explore Bali’s natural attractions including the tropical birds and reef fishes at Bali Barat National Park, or the mangrove and monsoon forests of Menjangan Island. Bali’s old capital of Singaraja retains much of its Dutch colonial charms, while traditional villages like Munduk in the highlands, Sawan, where traditional gamelan musical instruments are produced, and Simbaran offer insights into the timeless Balinese culture.
Semarang, Java, Indonesia
Semarang is a commercial port located roughly halfway between Jakarta and Surabaya, along Java's north central coast. Today, many of the island's most important exports, including tobacco, sugar, rubber, coffee, and cacao are shipped through Semarang. Because of its accessibility to the island's interior, it is an ideal gateway to numerous coffee plantations and the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site of Borobudur.
Singapore, Singapore
Singapore is an island-state in Southeast Asia. Singapore City is by far the largest and most significant island alongside 63 others that make up Singapore state. Located at the mouth of the Singapore River, it is a modern, affluent city and the world's busiest port. A blend of the ancient and modern can be seen from the gleaming skyscrapers to Chinese and Hindu temples. Combining a lush tropical climate, with tasty food, good shopping and a happening, vibrant nightlife scene, this Garden City makes a great stopover or springboard into the region.
