Toulon, France

Toulon is a city in southern France and a large military harbour on the Mediterranean coast, with a major French naval base. It is located between Marseille and Nice, in the west of French Riviera and in the southeast of Provence. Toulon is an important centre for naval construction, fishing, wine making, and the manufacture of aeronautical equipment, maps, paper, tobacco, printing, shoes and electronic equipment.

Attractions in Toulon include its historical quarter, the port and promenade, the opera house and the Liberty plaza in the new town. There are a number of beaches nearby and several museums, churches and parks to visit. It also offers outdoor activities such as biking, climbing and water sports.
