Ambodifototra

Ambodifototra is located on Sainte Marie (Nosy Boraha) Island, a narrow island off the east coast of Madagascar. It is the largest and most developed settlement on the island.

Whale watching is a major attraction, the channel between Sainte-Marie island and Madagascar is a breeding ground for Humpback whales migrating from the Antarctic. The island is also infamous for pirates which used it as a base during the 17th and 18th centuries.
