Covenas, Colombia
Coveñas is a resort town on northern Colombia’s Gulf of Morrosquillo. It’s known for long beaches with calm, shallow waters. La Primera Ensenada Beach is a center for water sports. Northeast of town, La Ciénaga de La Caimanera is a wildlife-rich coastal lagoon and nature reserve with mangroves, caiman and a variety of fish and birds. To the southwest, the town of San Antero is known for its annual Donkey Festival.
